Making risk prevention engaging, modern, and effective: this is the challenge many companies face, especially those like Akkodis France, which employs young, digitally-savvy professionals. Camille Jeanney, Regional Prevention Manager at this international digital engineering consulting firm, shares her experience with the Immersive Factory SafetyBox VR©.

The quest for "more fun" prevention

It all began at the Preventica trade show in Lyon in 2024. Camille Jeanney heard about virtual reality being applied to prevention. An internet search using keywords like "virtual reality, prevention, safety" led her to Immersive Factory, whose site caught her eye.

The need was clear: "I was looking for a way to make prevention more fun, less academic," she explains. Faced with a specific audience, the traditional approach was showing its limits. "Our employees are relatively young and have a natural appetite for 'digital' tools. I wanted my prevention awareness sessions to be attractive and make an impact."

This is where VR came into play. "Virtual reality provides that 'wow' effect, but the immersive side also makes certain aspects of prevention more concrete."

Choosing the SafetyBox VR©: A "turnkey" solution

Among the solutions on the market, the Immersive Factory SafetyBox VR© stood out. "The 'SafetyBox VR©' format convinced me because it was very complete," says Camille Jeanney. "The availability of the headset and all the existing VR modules, along with 'turnkey' support, confirmed my choice."

Integration at Akkodis was methodical. After a testing phase of the modules by the prevention team, some were targeted and integrated "into a scenario, to allow our employees to apply our golden rules in prevention." Today, its use is regular: "we organize awareness sessions several times a month, lasting about 1 hour, in groups of 4 to 6 people."

A "real complement" to field experience

For a company whose consultants work in various industrial environments, risk management is a major issue. Camille Jeanney remains pragmatic: "Even if virtual reality never completely replaces field experience, it provides a real complement."

She elaborates: "Our managers and consultants can work in numerous industrial universes, which implies a wide variety of risks. Virtual reality allows us to come and 'test' our behavior and reflexes; we can discuss these risks, all while operating in a 'safe' environment." She sees it as "a first approach, which will allow them to apply the good practices learned once they are in the field."

A "slam dunk" praised by the teams

The impact on employees was immediate and powerful. "The feedback received after these virtual reality workshops is very satisfactory, even dithyrambic," enthuses Camille Jeanney, sharing a standout comment: "'it's the best training I've ever had'!"

Faced with such enthusiasm, the conclusion is clear: "When you get this type of feedback, you tell yourself that you've hit the mark and that the format is right." While the effects on accident rates are measured over the long term, the impact on engagement is already palpable. "It’s a slam dunk that makes an impact and makes the subject of prevention more engaging and less restrictive."

In conclusion, Camille Jeanney does not hesitate: "Yes, I recommend the SafetyBox VR©. It's a complete tool that allows for a multitude of possibilities, after a phase of appropriation and customization. It allows you to deliver the key messages you want to get across to your employees, in a form that, without a doubt, does not leave anyone indifferent!"
