Hervé ROUSSET has been the QHSE Correspondent at Dalkia since 2017, specifically in the subsidiary that ensures the maintenance and development of the heat and cold network of Lyon Centre Métropole. He agreed to testify about the use of virtual reality within the company.

How did you discover Immersive Factory ?

“I discovered Immersive Factory while sharing experiences with the QHSE Manager of another company (Air Liquide in Sassenage) who introduced me to the solution you were offering.”

How were you led to choose the use of virtual reality for the HSE field ?

“I started with the assumption that a person who has an accident or a near miss will not be caught out the next time they find themselves in a similar situation. The use of VR allows for the reproduction of an ordinary work situation and potentially simulating the accident (impressively if needed) if all the rules are not followed by the learner. Thus, they learn from their mistakes but without harm.”

What needs does the choice to use virtual reality meet for you ?

“I was won over by the playful and innovative aspect of VR which allows for renewing the discourse and the support of safety talks and brings an impactful touch depending on how the accident is simulated.”

At this stage, what are the added values and points to be improved that you associate with virtual reality in the HSE field ?

“Some people may be uncomfortable with the VR tool. The goal is to make handling as smooth as possible by working on the software and hardware.”

Would you recommend Immersive Factory ?

“I had a pleasant experience with the teams at Immersive Factory. So rather than blindly testing another provider, yes, I would recommend turning to you.”

You, too, can train your employees in work safety thanks to virtual reality. Let them make mistakes in a secure and immersive environment, so they don’t make them on the field. Experience accidents virtually to avoid them in reality!
