Immersed at DS Smith

Alain BOUYER is the HSE Manager at DS Smith Packaging Consumer for the Rochechouart site, which specializes in the production of premium cardboard packaging.
He kindly agreed to discuss his experience with Immersive Factory. We'll let you discover.
How did you discover Immersive Factory?
"I discovered Immersive Factory through an Internet search."
What are the uses of VR at DS Smith? Since when has VR been introduced in your company?
"We organize specific sessions with our employees in groups of 5-6 people. We also hold workshops with maintenance techniques (lockout, for example). We use VR in all departments quarterly and occasionally for welcoming a new employee for a year now."
Did you initiate the use of VR in your company? Why did you choose VR?
"Yes, I am the initiator. A few years ago, I tried the first training courses (fire extinguisher, First Aid, etc.) and I liked it. I appreciate new technologies and I wanted to bring something different. VR allows for greater immersion and, most importantly, the employee is an active participant during the session."
What feedback have you received from your colleagues/management regarding the use of VR?
"Almost all employees appreciate the tool (even the most reluctant ones at first). The quality of learning is difficult to evaluate but the moment is always appreciated."
Would you recommend the use of VR?
"Yes, I recommend it for all types of industries, but of course in addition to traditional prevention/awareness approaches. The main interest for me is to bring diversity in the HSE approach and to get people on board."
You too can bring innovation to your training and activities with virtual reality. It's a fun way to learn and VR allows you to retain 4 times more information. You will find a solution to your needs in our comprehensive module catalogue.
