How did you discover Immersive Factory?
“We discovered Immersive Factory through a presentation by our Vinci Energies France Industrie Normandie IDF safety animation advisor. We were looking for an innovative, immersive safety solution that would be engaging for workplace safety training and awareness while bringing dynamism to our safety programs.”
Why did you choose the SafetyBox VR©? How do you use it? How often?
“We chose the SafetyBox VR© primarily for its ability to provide immersive and interactive training in a virtual environment. It allows our teams to experience risk situations realistically and safely, enhancing their understanding of hazards and better preparing them for real risks.
We use the SafetyBox VR© during company onboarding for new employees as a complement to our safety dojo, as well as for awareness sessions, Safety Week, and MASE committee meetings.
Our usage varies, and we may increase it by training our site managers to use it for on-site safety talks. On average, we try to use it once or twice a month.”
What needs does virtual reality address for your company?
“Using virtual reality meets several key needs for our company. Firstly, it enables us to train our employees in a safe environment, which is crucial for high-risk situations. Secondly, it promotes active learning, as employees can experience scenarios they might not encounter in their daily work.
Additionally, virtual reality helps attract and engage employees in safety topics. Our young hires are surprised and delighted to be introduced to safety through VR headsets during their company onboarding.
Finally, this investment has reinforced the perception that our employees' safety is a top priority within our company.”
At this stage, what are the added values and areas for improvement you associate with virtual reality in HSE?
“There are multiple added values. Firstly, virtual reality offers total immersion, allowing teams to prepare for emergency situations in a controlled environment. It also helps reduce costs associated with practical on-site training and enables more effective evaluation of participants’ reactions.
However, some improvements could be made, such as adding more specific scenarios related to health and well-being.”
Have you noticed a difference before and after using virtual reality?
“Yes, we have observed a significant difference since introducing virtual reality into our training programs. Feedback from our employees has been very positive, with a better understanding of risks and an increased ability to respond appropriately to hazardous situations. Employees seem better prepared and more confident in risk management.”
Would you recommend the SafetyBox VR©?
“Yes, we would highly recommend the SafetyBox VR© to other companies looking to improve safety training and make their QSE processes more dynamic and engaging. The ability to expose teams to risks virtually and safely is an undeniable asset in workplace accident prevention.
It is a modern and effective solution for any company concerned about the safety of its employees. During our various audits, the use of this technology has been highly praised.”
