Immersed at Actemium Côte d’Or

I’m Cyril BORGET, QHSE Manager at Actemium Côte d’Or, a company specialized in electrical work for industrial clients. In our line of work, preventing occupational risks is a top priority. We are committed to raising awareness among our employees as soon as they join the company and maintaining a high level of vigilance throughout their journey.

I had previously discovered Immersive Factory during a former experience, through a project involving the creation of a VR scenario on hydraulic lockout. I was convinced by the potential of virtual reality for safety training.So, we chose the SafetyBox VR© to enhance our awareness-raising tools. Itswide range of scenarios allows us to address all our risks in a concrete and immersive way.

We primarily use it during safety inductions for new hires and as part of regular awareness sessions, in small groups of 3 to 4 people, particularly during our safety days.

Why virtual reality?

VR addresses several key challenges for us:

  • It enhances the retention of prevention messages by immersing users in risk situations;
  • It enables risk-free simulations, especially valuable for newcomers or those less experienced with our major risks, such as working at heights or with electricity;
  • It promotes a safety culture and demonstrates our commitment to innovation in prevention practices.

What are the tangible benefits?

Feedback has been very positive. Employees are more engaged, more attentive, and discussions are richer compared to traditional methods. It’s an impactful learning approach that supports skill development through hands-on practice. Some individuals may need a brief adaptation period, but overall, the tool is well received.

It’s still a bit early to measure the long-term effects precisely, especially since this solution is part of a completely redesigned onboarding process, which combines physical workshops and immersive experiences. However, we’re already seeing greater involvement from the moment of hiring, which is essential in our approach.

In summary?

wholeheartedly recommend the SafetyBox VR©. It’s a distinctive, effective, and adaptable tool that truly strengthens safety culture. A real value-add for any company looking to modernize their HSE approach and actively engage their teams.
