Immersed at Atalian

François Faivre is the QHSE Coordinator for Atalian cleanliness. François and the VR risk hunting facilitators agreed to share their experience with virtual reality.
How did you discover Immersive Factory?
“During the organization of a safety day, we had heard about the company and its offer.”
What needs does virtual reality meet for you?
“We use virtual reality to innovate in our safety awareness communication methods, to break the routine, captivate teams around something playful, and then anchor the information. It is memorable because it is innovative compared to the usual talks.”
At this stage, what are the added values and areas for improvement that you associate with virtual reality in the HSE field?
“Virtual reality helps develop employee awareness of different types of dangerous situations. It’s a playful and collaborative format for safety animation, innovative compared to the usual talks. Moreover, the 'Hazard Spotting - Office' module is visually beautiful and very appreciated by the staff.
Additionally, Immersive Factory is very responsive in case of technical problems with the VR headset. The virtual reality exercises are also a good opportunity to develop the FISAA indicator of 'dangerous situation reporting,' and virtual reality has an innovative aspect that teams really appreciate.
However, it can sometimes be a bit difficult to get the first participant motivated to put on the headset to 'break the ice,' and some participants don’t understand how to use the controllers to take pictures and move around. This is especially noticeable among employees with a higher average age. Some participants experience dizziness using the headset, although we think it is more due to apprehension than reality. Finally, some modules seem less polished than others.”
Have you noticed a difference before and after virtual reality?
“Yes, in terms of safety culture and team involvement in safety, it has improved.”
Would you recommend Immersive Factory?
“Yes”
Immersive Factory is there throughout the process to support you. Do not hesitate to contact us if you encounter problems with installations, equipment, or during your safety awareness sessions. We regularly attend safety days ourselves and can provide tips to break the ice, ensure the headset is used correctly, and minimize participants' apprehension. We also try to give you as many tips as possible during the training of your facilitators beforehand.
And regarding the exercises? The catalog is being updated with new graphics! We regularly update them to stay current with standards and innovations. Contact us to learn more.
