Julie Doyen is an HSE engineer at an industrial production site for Qualipac. Qualipac is a company specializing in the manufacturing of aluminum packaging for the luxury perfumery and cosmetics sectors.

How did you discover Immersive Factory?

"In 2023, we wanted to organize a day dedicated to raising awareness about occupational risk prevention at our site for all our employees. We wanted to offer fun, contemporary activities. We searched online for a virtual reality activity related to safety in an industrial environment."

"The SafetyBox VR© allows us to choose from several scenarios and games tailored to the company's reality. The scenario completed by an employee wearing the VR headset can be projected onto a screen, which allows multiple people to participate in, for example, a risk-hunting exercise. We use it during the annual Safety Day, and we plan to use it for more regular awareness activities throughout the year."

What needs does the use of virtual reality address for you?

"It allows employees to collectively think about the risks around them. They can practice identifying hazards in a dedicated session, something that’s not always easy to do during daily activities. It also offers something different from traditional activities and helps modernize risk prevention."

At this stage, what added value and improvements do you associate with virtual reality in the HSE field?

“Added value: It allows us to work on risk types and associate 'I see a risk' with 'I act to control my risk.' Through the game, employees engage in risk management at their level and can replicate what they’ve seen directly on the field.Improvements: "It would be very interesting to create a custom scenario specific to our company, allowing us to model our production workshops and warehouses to more closely mirror the everyday reality of our teams."

Have you noticed a difference before and after using virtual reality?

"We were able to measure the impact of a prevention day where we experimented with virtual reality. We received excellent feedback from our employees, who have significantly improved their daily risk detection, which helps us better manage our risks."
