Using a Lifeline
The "Using a Lifeline" module immerses the user in augmented reality to teach them how to use a lifeline safely.
On construction sites or in industrial environments, working at height is common—and the risk of falling is very real. When a fixed anchor point isn’t available, horizontal lifelines (HLLs) become essential for ensuring worker safety.
Lifelines aren’t a luxury—they are the last line of defense between a worker and a potentially deadly fall. But to be effective, they must be used correctly. That’s exactly what our augmented reality simulator, accessible directly from a smartphone, is designed to teach.
An Immersive and Realistic AR Simulator
Using a smartphone or tablet camera, trainees can access a full-scale, photorealistic 3D lifeline, overlaid directly into their real environment—whether at the office, at home, or in a training room.
The simulation is based on real-world scenarios, validated by safety experts.
Learning Objectives
This augmented reality training is designed to:
- Teach the fundamentals of safely using a horizontal lifeline
- Raise awareness about the importance of shock absorbers in fall protection
- Prepare users to respond appropriately in real-life scenarios
- Develop the right habits for moving safely at height
Who Should Take This Training?
This module is intended for any worker operating at height, including:
- Construction workers
- Maintenance technicians
- Industrial staff
- Personnel working on platforms or overhead cranes
No technical prerequisites are required. The module is suitable for both new hires and experienced professionals.
Training Scenario: Crossing an Overhead Crane with a Lifeline
In a photorealistic 3D AR environment, the trainee plays the role of a worker who must cross an overhead crane to retrieve a forgotten toolbox.
But there’s danger ahead: an oil spill has made the surface slippery, and a fall is inevitable—unless the trainee has correctly applied the lifeline procedure.
The simulator enables learners to:
- Properly attach to the lifeline
- Move safely along a suspended structure
- Understand the real consequences of improper attachment (a virtual 6-meter fall if mistakes are made!)
- Master key steps: connection, movement, tension, anchor points, and more
All without any real-world risk.
Why Choose This AR Training?
- Immersive AR technology – Integrated into the real world via smartphone, no VR headset needed
- Zero physical risk – Safe learning experience, accessible anywhere
- Memorable simulation – A realistic fall scenario that reinforces critical safety behavior
- Learning by doing – Trainees engage actively and learn from mistakes
- Short, effective format – Perfect as part of onboarding or safety refreshers
Train to Protect. Prevent Falls.
Give your teams the tools to identify and avoid danger before it’s too late. Offer them a modern, realistic, and engaging training experience to master the use of safety lifelines with confidence.
